Joy Johnston

With over 18 years of communications and marketing experience, Joy offers a full range of public relations services including internal and external communications strategies, social media, media relations, print and digital newsletters, website management, and staff training. 

As the former director of communications for both the City of Bothell and the City of Mercer Island, Joy reached out to diverse audiences to build effective relationships between citizens and their government as well as bolster the communities’ standing in the region. She launched Mojo Strategies in 2012 and has since worked with dozens of public and private sector organizations throughout the Puget Sound region to develop and implement successful communications strategies.

Joy has served on the O Bee Credit Union Board of Directors, the Briggs YMCA Advisory Board in Olympia, and the Board of the Municipal League of King County. As a breast cancer survivor, she has been active as a participant and speaker for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Joy holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington.

Kathryn Coffman

Kathryn is the owner of Fashionably Frank Marketing, a content marketing agency based out of Olympia, Washington, serving what she calls “heart-centered” businesses and entrepreneurs. Kathryn offers comprehensive solutions for social media, blogging, email marketing, web design, branding and more that help clients get noticed and build valuable relationships. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The Evergreen State College with emphasis in psychology, business/leadership, and marketing.

Sakura Kidwell

Sakura’s conscientious attention to detail and exemplary customer service skills provide the valuable support needed to ensure work stays on track and is delivered with the highest quality. After 24 years in the insurance industry, primarily as a successful underwriter, Sakura launched Precisely Write in 2018. Since then, she has provided communication services on behalf of developers to meet the City of Seattle’s early design review outreach requirements as well as ongoing community outreach for various SDOT projects. One of her main focuses is making certain that all written communications within the scope of her work go out into the world error-free. She holds both a Writing Certificate and an Editing Certificate from the University of Washington.

Marie Jensen is a seasoned professional specializing in strategic communications, media relations and community engagement. Responsive, thoughtful, and organized, Marie created the communications programs for the cities of Woodinville and Kirkland – developing and sustaining multimedia programs supporting all city departments. She values the relationships that are vital to effective and cooperative public information and inclusive engagement. In her 30+ public service years, Marie has managed community relations issues, supported extensive long-range planning efforts, led emergency public information initiatives, and organized public events.
